The Independent Insurance Agents of Houston provides a complete range of specialized property and casualty insurance classes for insurance professionals that are approved by the Texas Department of Insurance for continuing education hours. In addition to over 40-hours of public offerings IIAH provided five 3-hour continuing educational courses to its members annually (15 hours total) for licensed personnel absolutely “free”. University of Houston Downtown-Insurance & Risk Management Center
The University of Houston Downtown’s Insurance and Risk Management Center has received enthusiastic support from Houston’s insurance establishment, resulting in the development of one of the most unique programs in the nation. Texas is among only twenty states that offer the thirty undergraduate degree programs with insurance and risk management majors available in the U.S.
The Independent Insurance Agents of Houston and the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas provided founding support for formation and the launching of the IRM Center in 2009. Many other IIAH members and affiliates including agencies, carriers, wholesalers, consultants and individuals also contributed founding support to the program. For more click here.
